Karmaloop Flagship Store Grand Re-Opening
Karmaloop.com, the world’s premier streetwear website, featuring over 150 brands, selling in over 35 countries, with over 2 million unique visitors monthly, is about to open their newly redesigned flagship store in Boston, Massachusetts.
The newly redesigned store is 2,000 square feet and features a fusion of Modern, Victorian, and Gothic design resulting in a unique shopping experience. In an effort to step away from streetwear’s traditional minimalist retail space design style, Karmaloop has created a visually stimulating and alluring space that borders on decadent.
The new store is fitted with hardwood flooring as well as a marble mosaic tile featuring an inlaid “K” in the middle while offering many unique standout design features. One of the most interesting pieces are the custom chandeliers created by world-renowned Dutch artist, Maarten Baas. These chandeliers, hand-made with a special smoking technique that creates the impression the chandliers were charred in a fire, will be seen for the first time in the United States in the Karmaloop flagship store in Boston.
The Victorian style fireplace is a central piece in the store’s design while a glass floor in part of the store will allow people to see into the foundation of the building and view the anthropological artifacts down there. Additionally the store will feature custom leather upholstered fixtures, as well as hand built wooden cases and cash wrap with a black marble top, a wrought iron wall of kicks based on the iron work on the windows of the Boston Public Libary, 3 flat screen televisions showing clips from KarmaloopTV, four computers were shoppers can shop on-line at Karmaloop.com (and always get free shipping) purple damask wallpaper, exposed sandstone and a carved throne at the front entrance.
As always, the store will carry tried and true favorites available on Karmaloop.com in addition to the brands that will be exclusive to the flagship store. The store will be an outlet to test out new lines and offer limited edition items before they’re available on Karmaloop.com. To cater to the Boston demographic, the store will also offer higher-end brands and carry several magazines that have been unavailable or difficult to find in the Boston area such as Streetwear Today, Sportswear International, Play Imagnitive and Reup.
